Cook’n Recipe Organizer Review and Giveaway

cookn-DVO-recipe-Organizer

I have had my eye on this product for MONTH’s now. Every time I saw it on a blog or checked out their website, I thought to myself, “I have to try this program”. And you know what? SOO worth it.

I love to cook and bake… I love making up my own recipes, fooling around with published recipes, and trying out new things. After finding or creating recipes you love, it can get really difficult to find a good solution to storing them. I have folder upon folder of bookmarks in my browser and saved recipes in my computer. I also have binders that I created to hold the written and printed ones but half of the pages are ripped, crumpled, or once had something spilled on them. And I am sure you know how difficult it can be to find that ONE recipe you are looking for when you have a million places you have to search! A needle in a haystack right?

So, when I got this program I decided to put it to great use VERY quickly. After installing it (super easy by the way), I realized that I not only get to create my own cookbooks but DVO provided their own cookbook in their program. So you actually get an entire cookbook along with the organizer… AWESOME!

One more feature that I absolutely LOVE is the meal planner. DVO created a meal planner that lets you take the recipes from your cookbooks and place them into days of the week. I am a huge fan of doing this because meal planning not only saves you time but money, as well. And seriously, the awesomeness never ends. After you are done planning your meals, you hit ONE button and it will create a shopping list for you of all the ingredients you need! It will even give you a ballpark price of what you will pay in stores for the items and a total cost. Already have an item on the list? Check a little box next to the item and the program deducts the cost of that item leaving you with a precise shopping list of what you need for the week.

So, now I have been working little by little to get all of my recipes into this awesome program so I can finally get rid of all of the clutter! After that, I am SO excited to start planning every week and rediscovering all of my lost, hidden, and forgot-about recipes. WooHoo!

My recipes are scattered all about my house. My shelves are so full of cookbooks that they are bending with the weight. I save the rest on my computer, but since I make them up as I go, or alter the ones I find, I never remember what I named them…a little difficult to find.

This program would be a blessing.
